Ah! Yes! I finally get to doing this :)
I really dont know how far this is going to get or how far i am going to get with this... but...nonetheless! :) here goes:
Its been a year since i "realised" what my "inner calling" is ..
All through my growing up years as I watched my mother at work i wondered how she had the patience to deal with what she does! Hats off ! i would always say to her.. while she just smiled and mentioned to me how rewarding her profession was and how no other profession would give the kind of satisfaction hers gave her! I laughed and more often than not.. walked away from the scene hoping she'd not start the conversation on how I should also join her... !
To cut a long story short - i dreaded being forced into being a "teacher" !
And 8 years hence - after a long stint with the HR industry - getting tired of "politics" being played - something pulled me in the direction of the education industry -
I don't know if it was the general chats i had with my mother about the school she taught in and how it was different from regular schools - or it was my short stint with a school for children with special needs - or it was my association with a few NGO's with children - i really cannot pin point -
Here I am - after a course on "Early Childhood Learning" and a "Pre Primary Teachers Training" course ,working since the last year with a pre school that follows the "Reggio Emmila Approach" ! and boy!! am i enjoying it!!
Babies are such stress busters! How innocent they are!
I think they are the closest beings to God - pure innocence and unconditional love personified! :)
This blog is going to have a lot of creative ideas flowing and lots of sharing of ideas with other pre school fecilitators :)
I'd love to share all that we do in class and also would love to hear from each one of you!
